Friday 18 September 2009

Again on the 11th and 13th September there was the Campionatul National de Coasta, (Hill climbing for the English speakers), at the picturesque mountain town of Ranca, the height above sea level was approximately 1,200m and gave us some great scenery. Not that there was time to look around while racing.

The racing was close with the top cars battling for tenths of seconds and with cars lower down the order equally close in our timings it was a battle all the way for every position; I was competitive on Friday with the new Clio R3 max, the latest generation Renault Clio with 250hp, of Edwin Keleti and only 0.1 of a second behind.
The crowds were large with the road lined at 7:30 on Sunday morning and with some of my fans appreciating the sideways exploits that I displayed it was w very well supported event.

On Friday I was able to post some competitive times but as others improved on Sunday I was already at the limit and could not find those extra seconds.

Also on the Friday I sustained a little damage to the front tyres which meant that I had to change them and use the softer compound from the rear at the front. The theory is that this will give more grip but temperature of the tyre and the balance of grip levels between front and rear is disturbed. Nevertheless with extensive use of left foot breaking to control the balance of the car at the front in the turns I was able to improve the time a little on Friday and match it on Sunday, even though the wear of the soft tyre at the front was high and by the end of the weekend the tyres were fit for the bin.

A thank you to Edwin Keleti who kindly lent me some of his tyres for the weekend.

The results for the weekend gave me three podium appearances, two for the category of the car in the 2 litre section and one visit for the performance of 2 wheel drive.

The next race for me is the 12hr of Hungary, hopefully. I am trying to put together a programme for the event but as ever it is dependant on the budget; I hope to have it resolved this week and will be able to announce what the programme is for the weekend.

Do take a look at the http://www.jamesemmettracing.blogspot.com/ for updates and other events.

And there are some videos available on You Tube

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vaaVgCASArw with my car appearing at 15 seconds,
5 minutes and 8 seconds
and finally at 8 minutes and 56 seconds.

Be a part of this exciting team.

If you would like to associate yourself and display your company brand and logo then I would be very happy to discuss any aspect of the coming year with you.

Thank you.

James Emmett.
